Good bye 2013

Hi every one!

Today I’m going to write about good and bad things than happened in this year.

One of the best things that happened to me this year was win the Silver Cup in a volleyball tournament (TIF) in the university with my volleyball team. We only lose a match at the beginning of the season, and then we won all the other matches.  In order to that, we have risen to Golden Cup, where there are a lot of strong teams. I think to play with them will be so fun.

One of the things that didn’t go so well this year was could not go to the concert of The Offspring’s, because I could not to save enough money to buy the ticket. It was very sad because I like so much that band.

One of the things that I still haven’t done is go out of Santiago. In this way, I would like to travel to some place before the year ends. But I have to get a job to earn money to do the trip, so I will have to get a job first and save money to do the trip. In order to that, I think I could travel on next year on January o February. I really don’t care about it, because I the only thing that I want is to travel, and doesn’t matter if I have to wait one month or two to do it.

How Green Is my Heart?

I don’t believe to be a “green person” at all, but environmental problems are something I’m worry about. For example, I never throw to the ground the butt of my cigarette when I smoke, or I prefer to use my bike instead a car. I also have attended to public protest related with environmental issues, like protest against Hidro Aysen. I know this is not a big thing, but I think small actions could change the world if all people do it (sadly, so much people don’t do it.)

In my home, we recycle the newspaper after read it. We throw it in a container that is near of our home, and then an organization takes it to a recycling plant.

I have never supported eco-organizations, basically because I don’t have enough money to do it. But if I had money, I think I would do it.

I think another thing I would like to do is to plant a tree in my home. Actually, once I planted a little bean plant, but it dried up (so sad).

All those things can help a little bit to the environment, but I thing that is not enough at all. I strongly believe the State has to guarantee to maintain the environment by laws to protect it. And also, the State has to promote environmental care through Education.

A country I would like to visit...

Hi everyone! Today i'll write about an amazing place that I would like to visit: New Zealand (NZ).

I would visit NZ because is a wonderful place. There are a lot of different ecosystems like forest, mountains, beaches, etc. In addition, this country has an amazing relationship with their native people: the Maori. The State of NZ protects and promotes Maori culture, so you can learn a lot of this people and his culture.

If I travel to NZ, I would go all over the whole island to know all the different landscapes there. I also would like to see a match of rugby of the NZ All Blacks and see how they do the Haka before the match starts. I would like to learn about Maori people and his culture too.

I think I would like to work in NZ, because, I think is a kind of expensive to travel to NZ, but there is a program under the auspices of the State of NZ, named Working Holidays (is a kind of visa longer than tourist visa) that gives you a chance to work in the country for two or three months, and you can fund your journey through working. So I think this is a reasonable way to visit NZ if you don't have enough money.

My Favorite Movie

Hi everyone! Today I will write about my favorite movie.

One of my favorite’s movies is “Inception”.  It is a science fiction film that was performed for the first time in 2010. This movie was written, produced and directed by Christopher Nolan. This film has an amazing cast: Leonardo di Caprio (Dominick Cobb), Ken Watanabe (Saito), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Arthur), Marion Cotillard (Mal), Ellen Page (Ariadne) and Cilian Murphy (Robert Fisher).

This film is about two friends (Cobb and Arthur) that use a technique to steal secrets of the subconscious of business people to sell them to other corporations.  But in one of their jobs, they was discovered for Saito, a powerful business man who offers a different job: they will have to make an “inception”, in other words, they will have to put an idea in the mind of Robert Fisher, son of his competitor Maurice Fisher.  In exchange, Saito offers to Cobb the possibility to come back to USA to meet again with his children.

I like this film so much, because the story is amazing, it is full of action and incredible special effects. Another thing that I like so much of this movie is its soundtrack that was written by Hans Zimmer. 

You have to see it!!

My Ideal Job

I’m considering to work as academic in some university, because I like to investigate and make classes.  I think for this kind of job I would need reading skills, critical thinking skills, studding skills, etc. But I believe the most important thing for this kind of job is the desire of knowledge, in other words, you have to feel passion for learn.

I think I would be good in this job because I’m a very curious person, and I like to investigate thinks, and make a lot of questions about different phenomena   related with human mind and social behavior.

I think would  be difficult to find a job like that, because you need, in first place, an academic degree to be consider for a stable job. So, you have to study in a Phd program and work in something else.  Another difficult I think could be to find a place where you can develop the investigations that you want to do, like investigation centers that currently been working in the phenomena that you like to study.
